About Melson Motorsports

My name is Dan Melson. I live and work high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where I started designing cars when I was very young, In fact, I had drawn the car designs of the 1970s years before they began rolling off the assembly lines in Detroit.

By my 16th birthday, I was employed at a local body shop and had entered my first painting contests. I won 1st place in the regional competition and 2nd place in the state. That's how my career in the automobile industry began. Today, Melson Motorsports is my company as well as an extension of who I am.

I'm telling you this not to impress you but so you will understand that cars are much more to me than just transportation. Your car shows who you are and tells those around you a story. Have you ever noticed that people look like their cars? The same can be said about their dogs - but that's another story!

Cars look like and perform like their masters. This is where my job enters the picture. I have built Hot Rods, Classics, Collectibles, Reproductions and One-Offs. My specialty is helping each and every customer get exactly what he (or she!) wants.

Melson Motorsports is now producing replica AC Cobras, GT-40s, Lamborghini Diablos and Porsche 917s. We have two exciting new car designs planned for the near future. Melson Motorsports has over ten years in the production of fine exotic automobiles - and many more years of hands-on experience in the auto industry, If quality and value are important to you (and we know they are), Melson Motorsports is your kind of place, We use only the highest grade materials and all our chassis are jig and mig welded to insure perfection. Our bodies are a minimum of 3/16" thick and have structural core mate in key areas. Unlike some other custom bodies, ours are designed to look great AND built to last.

Let's be perfectly clear about one thing: All kits are easily ordered with a $1000 fully refundable deposit because we are not in the business of selling deposits. We want you to drive the car of your dreams - but if your life changes or you change your mind, etc., we will cheerfully refund your deposit. Plain and simple, there's no risk to you whatsoever.

Before delivery, a representative will contact you and full payment must be taken care of. Delivery or pickup options will be discussed and arranged.
